i had the concept. i had the photos. the only problem was that i couldn’t find the song. i’d pored over countless pieces of music but nothing made me feel like i wanted to feel as i watched images of so many of my amazing clients move before my eyes.

then i heard it.

you might remember seeing chase and lacie’s engagement photos on here not too long ago, but what you might not know is the back-story on their past and his proposal. i can’t possibly tell the story as well as they do, but know this…it involves a perfectly romantic kiss in the rain, a mix of joy and heartache, and a song. THE song. the moment i heard it i knew i’d found it.

countless thanks to chase butler of fourfold for this amazing song. while he wrote it for the beauty that’s soon to be his wife, it’s one of those perfect pieces that transcends a single relationship and so beautifully encapsulates the story of love.

    Allison,

I have been on the outer perimeter of two of the weddings that you have photographed. The first was the wedding of Blayne and Morgan Barber. Blayne is the “adopted brother” of my daughter, Regina, through the college ministry program at Auburn. He is also one of my son, John’s, closest friends. You did an amazing job with their wedding.

Now, as you say, fast forward to 2014. My son’s best friend and, the one who refers to me as his other mother, introduces me to the woman who will be his bride. We walk with them through this precious and exciting time. What an amazing blessing you gave to Rosson and Hannah to capture them and their personality on film. My favorite picture so far through, and I am a little basis, is the prayer picture. I have never seen a picture of the bride and groom prior to the wedding praying. I LOVED this picture and loved it in black and white. It spoke volumes and was so special to me as the mother of the best man. John and Rosson share a special bond not just of friends, but of brothers; not just brother, but brothers held together by the love of Christ. Okay, I know a lot of words, but that is what that picture said to me.

Your photography is amazing. I just wanted you to know that my son John is so impressed with you and your work. He loved the way that you were able to show the real spirit of the wedding. I guess when you know Jesus it shines through in everything you do, when we realize it and when we are totally unaware. I think the most effective times are those that are purely unintended. Thank you for all you do.

With love from a groomsman’s mother,

    Lynn Maiden
