my husband and i have worked with compassion international for several years now, but during a trip to ethiopia in 2011 for our baby’s adoption, we had the unique and wonderful opportunity to visit the small village that we’ve been partnering with for some time now. i held precious and beautiful babies and hugged the necks of mothers just like myself.

when i left that evening, a part of my heart stayed behind.
