as i snuck in the back door and dropped my dripping umbrella to the ground, i could hear the faint chatter of voices above in the bride’s dressing room. i snuck into the owner’s office and whispered, how is she doing?   you see, that day had marked just one in a long line of rainy days we’d been having and i needed to know if i should prepare myself for a teary bride whose wedding day had been tainted by the constant fall of heavy drops from the sky.

but no sooner had the words come out of my mouth than i heard it…laughter. it wasn’t a giggle, it wasn’t even a chuckle. no, it was one those wonderful belly laughs that only comes from a happy bride on her wedding day. all was well. amanda and owen may have had a forecast of showers for their wedding day but that did nothing to drown out the joy of their first day of marriage. thank you to the newlyweds for sharing your perfectly wet – but perfectly wonderful – day with us all.
