it’s been nearly 13 years, but i vividly remember the planning. weddings were a lot different back then and teemed over with lots of have-to’s and supposed-to-be’s. now don’t get me wrong…i adore the sacred nature of a wedding ceremony and i love hints of tradition sprinkled throughout the day, but there’s something to be said about the endless range of ideas and personalization that characterize weddings now.
thankfully beth and john get it.
they cast off all of the expected and, instead, planned a wedding day that was perfectly suited to their unique personalities. my husband put it best when he said it was kind of like the bridal spin on a progressive dinner. beth started with hair and makeup at her house and then joined john and their immediate families at st. francis xavier church for a beautiful and intimate ceremony.
from the church, the whole group moved to john’s parents’ house to join their extended families for a fabulous time of lunch and laughter.
the final stop of beth and john’s perfect day was at cantina at pepper place where a host of their closest friends waited to celebrate with them.
beth and john, thank you so much for asking me to join you for such a wonderful celebration of your marriage. much love to you!!
