we left early that morning to make sure we’d get into town in plenty of time to capture all of the festivities. anna and i talked excitedly about the day and the many, many like it to come. it was official…wedding season had finally arrived!!

after a quick bite at the local barbeque joint (small town restaurants can’t be beat), we headed to the church to join emilee, her mother, and her bridesmaids for the flurry of prep and anticipation…

and before we knew it, one of my favorite moments of any wedding day had arrived. it was time for emilee to go meet her groom.

i had to laugh when i got home early the next morning and began looking through all the photos from the day. anna and i think so much alike sometimes which was proven when i found these little gems (my photo on left, anna’s on right)…

but even better than that is how she can see the scene that i’m creating and find such a unique and gorgeous way to shoot it. (my photo first, hers second)

when i was done shooting emilee and laramie’s precious first look, i moved on to working with emilee and her bridesmaids (whom i found peeking at us from around the corner of the building). these girls were fantastic and they totally rocked it in front of the camera.

in all fairness, though, the guys did pretty awesome themselves.

the hustle and bustle of the afternoon eventually settled down as emilee and laramie made their way to the altar to commit their lives to one another in a beautiful ceremony attended by what i’m guessing was every citizen of the darling small town we were in. and when you have loads of family and friends to move from the ceremony site to the reception venue, there’s only one way to go i suppose. thankfully emilee and laramie stole a quiet moment alone on the massive chartered bus before it filled with shouts of congratulations for the new mr. and mrs. cook.

once they arrived at the vaughn-morrow house, emilee and laramie enjoyed their first celebratory moments as husband and wife.

and then out in the tent, the incredible 2nd coming band kicked the party into high gear and the guests danced for hours.

the limo eventually arrived, signaling that the amazing night was drawing to a close. emilee and laramie were tucked away as their guests prepared for them to leave…

and then with every bit as much joy and excitement as the day had started with, it came to an end with a raucous war-eagle-vs-roll-tide shaker sendoff.

emilee and laramie, it has been such an honor to spend these last months preparing and working with you on your perfect wedding day. it was absolutely gorgeous, and i’m so thankful that you asked me to be a part. i pray that your honeymoon – but more, your marriage – is simply delightful!!
