our paths have crossed in so many ways over the past couple of years – at church, birthday parties, school meetings, small group, and through our adoptions several months ago. but most recently, i had the joy of spending the afternoon with my friends, the fannings, in a new capacity…as a photographer.
a lot went into making this session happen. there was the couch, the location, the clothes (some of which showed up at lora’s doorstep literally one hour before we started shooting), and i haven’t even mentioned the virtual army of people who helped that day (a massive thank you to abbi, dylan, and carrie for all of your behind-the-scenes work). but once the first click of my camera sounded, it was all fun and games…
…especially for the boys. they couldn’t have possibly been any more fun, and they made my job of “shooting life” incredibly easy.
this is good and precious stuff, my friends.
one little factor i didn’t mention was the weather. lora and i had a plan in our minds of exactly what we wanted that day, and it involved a delightful mix of warmth and sun. what we got was cold and clouds. but no worries, because the blanket and cuddles ended up turning out some pretty sweet pictures after all.
many of you know lora as the author of vitafamiliae, so i thought it was only fitting to include a day-in-the-life photo of her and andrew partaking in two of their favorite things…coffee and technology.
but i couldn’t stop there…because “seven” (as LL affectionately refers to the bambino she’s growing right now) needed to be included in the family photos as well.
that’s right – the fannings are about to be a family of nine!!
thank you, sweet friends, for spending such a wonderful afternoon with me and for allowing me to document what makes your family who it is. i had a fantabulous time, and i pray that these photos will bless you for years to come!! (and now for a few of my favorite candids…)
i love you, peeps!!
